This guide is going to explain one of many side hustle/panel group opportunities that are currently available. For this weeks side hustle, we are focusing on:
The Newcomer Community.
So I know your wondering:
What is it?
The Newcomer Community is a panel that is currently open to NEWCOMERS TO CANADA ONLY that allows Newcomers to Canada to chat about their experience and participate in surveys and focus groups that will earn you amazon gift cards!
I can’t tell you what criteria will get you in or not because I have no idea. When you fill out the original survey, based on your answers, they will determine if you qualify.
How it works
- Sign up: First you fill out their questionaire form and if you are eligible, they will ask you to create a username and password. Once your in, they will email you whenever they have a survey that you are eligible for.

Receive an email: Whenever you are eligible for a survey, they will email you with the details. Normally this email will let you know:
1) How long it will take to complete
2) The reward (The amount of $ you’ll recieve) and/or if your responses will make you eligible for a panel
3) The deadline to get it completed
4) Payout date* (this isn’t always added)
And that’s it! This isn’t a panel that requires you to always check in and all surveys are optional so you don’t have to do every single one. In addition to these survey opportunities, if you are looking for a place to communicate and engage with other newcomers, there is a space for general chats!
FAQ:
Q: How fast is payout?
A: Payout can vary based on the survey but from what I can tell and previous history being paid out, normally you recieve your gift card within 2 weeks of the SURVEY CLOSING. If two weeks have passed, you can email support and they will asist you. Friendly reminder, I am not support lol!
Q: I signed up when I saw someone post that there was a high value survey, but I don’t have it. Explain woman!
A: As a reminder, you are signing up for a community group and based on your answers and your experience as a newcomer, they will send out surveys. So yes someone may get a survey that you didn’t get and vice versa. That is completely normal. ALSO if you sign up after a survey is sent out, you won’t be able to get into that one because your information was not in their system yet.
Q: Do I have to be a Newcomer?
A: YES! I have been told by people within the program that they do periodic checks to ensure people aren’t lying. Do not sign up if you are not eligible. There are always more opportunities and I will be sharing them soon.
Q: Is it legit?
Duh! I don’t share things I haven’t tested or someone I trust has tested. In this case, my husband (As he is a newcomer) has been signed up for literal months! Its only since 2024 have I been reminding him to do it and in January alone, he has qualified and earned $130 in Amazon gift cards from 2 surveys.
